Theme and Wildcards: Chronotaur is a top-down, 8-bit, roguelite, action-RPG. This game was made for the Godot Wild Jam #70. Chronotaur is a play on myths and folklore and how what we consider myths and legends now may mean something completely different than how we have interpreted them. Recursive level, in Chronotaur you are stuck in an expanding recusive level loop that always brings you back to where you started, fighting the Chronotaur. Each iteration sees a new level added and a new opportunity for reward. Do you have what it takes to finally defeat the Chronotaur? Is there an exit to this endless maze of time?
Chronotaur is the first Godot game I have ever made, it's also my first game period. The inspiration for Chronotaur was "What if Hades was for the Gameboy?". As a solo dev I used a single CC0 asset pack. I did some additional sprite coloring, and custom animations and characters to try and expand into new skills.
